Poland: new ASF cases detected near Warsaw

The Polish veterinary authorities have confirmed new cases of African swine fever in the voivodate of Mazowieckie.

The Chief of the Veterinary Services of Poland has informed of the appearance of new African swine fever cases in the area near Warsaw: specifically, in two wild boars in the commune of Jabłonna, piovat of Legionowsk; in five wild boars, in the commune of Konstancin-Jeziorna, piovat of Piaseczno; in three wild boars in the commune of Leszno, west district of Warsaw; and in a wild boar in the city of Warsaw; all of them in the voivodate of Mazowieckie.

The areas where the wild boars affected by the disease have been found are located outside of the areas listed in parts I, II and III of the appendix of Decision 2014/709 / EU of the Commission.

In the area of the communes of Jabłonna and Leszno, the measures foreseen in article no. 15 of Directive 2002/60/CE of the Commission have been implemented urgently.
