Poland reports 42nd outbreak of ASF in pigs

There have been 42 outbreaks of African swine fever in pigs in Poland in 2024.

The Chief Veterinary Inspectorate reported the 42nd outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in 2024 on a farm with 17 pigs, located in Grabowo, Stargard Municipality, Stargard County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in a restricted area listed in Part III of Annex I to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/594, as amended by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2187 of August 27, 2024.

The Veterinary Inspectorate is implementing eradication measures in accordance with the procedures under Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/687.

This year, the outbreaks are concentrated in the north of the country, primarily in the Greater Poland region.
