According to ARiMR data, as of June 30, 2024, Poland was raising 9,206,191 pigs, some 36,000 fewer than in the same period last year. It is worth noting that as recently as 2022 the number of pigs raised did not exceed 9 million head.

A further decrease in the number of farms is observed. Currently, there are 49,539 herd headquarters registered, 414 herds are new (404 up to 5 pigs and 10 over 1,000 pigs), while 2,337 herds have been liquidated, mainly between 21 and 30 animals and between 51 and 100 animals.
