Poland: seventh case of ASF

Poland Chief Veterinary Officer reported the seventh case of African swine fever (ASF) in Polish territory. A group of six wild boars were found dead in a forest by the Border Guards on 4 July 2014, approximately 1 km from Luzany village and 4 km from the Polish-Belarusian border.

Samples taken from all dead wild boars were tested for ASF. Analysis carried out in the national reference laboratory for ASF confirmed the presence of genetic material of African swine fever virus in all tested samples.
