Despite delays in the sowing of the second corn crop in Brazil, official data continue to point to record national production. In Argentina, new downward adjustments in estimates led to a reduction in world production - which did not fall more intensely only because of the larger harvest in Brazil and the maintained production in the United States.
In this context, researchers at Cepea indicate that while producers are focused on fieldwork, domestic consumers acquire new lots only when there is a need to replenish stocks.
Still, some buyers are having difficulties purchasing because of logistical issues; with the advancement in the soybean harvest, the freight of the oilseed is given certain priority.
