The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Luis Basterra, participated in the virtual launch of the first digital pig market, ROSPORC, an online platform created by the initiative of the Rosario Board of Trade, where the stakeholders in the pig value chain will connect to negotiate their production in a safe and reliable way.
During its virtual exhibition, Basterra expressly recognized the concept of involving the public and private sectors and highlighted that "this new digital market will be a very important instrument to give efficiency and transparency to this value chain.
Likewise, the holder of the national agricultural portfolio emphasized that "so far this year, the pig sector has exported 40% more than during the previous cycle".
The governor of the Santa Fe province, Omar Perotti, considers this new digital market "a valuable achievement not only for the Rosario Board of Trade but also for the province, because it could become a reference market, which generates participation, transparency, and can incorporate prestigious stakeholders that provide the necessary professionalism," and added that "this is one of the sectors in which we have more expectations about its growth, because of the importance of transforming grains into protein, and because of the levels of industrialization that it can reach to develop in the international market, because it takes root and generates labor, all things that are very valued today when looking for sectors to invest."
ROSPORC is a digital marketplace that will allow the formation of reference values for each type of operation. It will also seek to streamline operations, offer new opportunities to producers, and provide greater predictability to the industry.
