Russia deemed free from FMD without vaccination by the OIE

The previously earned status was restored for most of the country, improving its export possibilities.

By the decision of the World Assembly of Delegates of the OIE, Russia was declared free of foot and mouth disease without vaccination (according to Resolution No. 7).

The OIE-recognized FMD free zone includes most of the country. These are the following 52 constituent entities of the Russian Federation: Moscow and St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Vologda, Voronezh, Ivanovo, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Kaluga, Kirov, Kursk, Kostroma, Leningrad, Lipetsk, Magadan, Moscow, Murmansk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novgorod, Orel, Penza, Pskov, Ryazan, Sverdlovsk, Smolensk, Tambov, Tver, Tomsk, Tula, Ulyanovsk, Yaroslavl regions, Kemerovo region - Kuzbass, Kamchatka, Krasnoyarsk, Perm Territory, the Republic of Bashkortostan, Mari, Karelia, , Mordovia, Tatarstan, Sakha (Yakutia), Khakassia, Udmurt Republic, Chuvash Republic, Nenets, Khanty-Mansiysk, Chukotka, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Districts.

Undoubtedly, this status recognized by the OIE improves the country's export potential.

The Rosselkhoznadzor is currently preparing to submit requests to the OIE for the official recognition of five more zones to be declared free of FMD with and without vaccination.
