Russia: OIE opens a new office in Moscow

The office will be, among others, in charge of supporting the quality of national veterinary services and information on animal disease situation in the region.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and the government of the Russian Federation signed an agreement on March 7th 2013 launching a new OIE representation based in the capital city of Moscow.

Under the direction of Dr Kazimieras Lukauskas, expert accredited for OIE PVS Pathway missions the office will be, among others, in charge of supporting the quality of national veterinary services and information on animal disease situation in the region. It will also facilitate the conduct of PVS Pathway evaluation and gap analysis missions, as well as capacity building seminars for OIE national focal points and Delegates of countries in the region.
