In January-May 2020, pig production (live weight slaughter) totaled 1.9 million tons, which is 11.6% or 201,300 tons up from the same period last year.
Most of the increase was attributed to agricultural producers in Kursk, Tambov, Belgorod, Orel, Voronezh, Pskov, Krasnodar Region, and the republics of Bashkortostan and Mordovia.
The key factors influencing the positive development of domestic pig breeding are the formation of a modern breeding base and the strengthening of veterinary supervision.
