The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance informs about the imposition of temporary restrictions on the import of porcine products from the Lugansk Oblast, Ukraine, from January 17, 2014, as the result of ASF among wild boars which emerged there in January, current year.

Restrictions are imposed on the import of pigs, their genetic material, porcine products (which were not subject to heat treatment enabling to reach +72ᵒC and morein the product centre for 30 minutes and ensuring the elimination of ASF virus) as well as on wild boar slaughtered products, horns and hoofs, raw casings, hair, pig feed which were not subject to analogous heat treatment, hunter's trophies which didn’t undergo taxidermy, equipment used for pig keeping, transportation, slaughter and cutting.

To add to this, the Rosselkhoznadzor Territorial Administrations were requested to strengthen control over the animal products in hand luggage and luggage imported from the Ukraine into the Russian Federation.
