According to the results from the first 11 months of 2024, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) notes positive export growth dynamics for most types of livestock products.
Compared to the same period last year, exports of edible by-products of pigs and cattle increased by 39% - from 45.5 to 63.3 thousand tons. Pork exports increased by 36% - from 150.2 to 204.6 thousand tons, beef by 27% - from 29.7 to 37.6 thousand tons, poultry meat and by-products by 23% - from 294.1 to 360.5 thousand tons, finished meat products by 19% - from 69.2 to 82.4 thousand tons, and dairy products by 18% - from 157.6 to 185.2 thousand tons.
There was a decrease in exports of fish and seafood by 25% - from 2.08 to 1.57 million tons, mutton by 25% - from 10 to 7.6 thousand tons, and horse meat by 12% - from 1.9 to 1.7 thousand tons.
The main drivers for growth of Russian livestock products are buyers such as the EAEU countries - Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and CIS countries - Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Africa - Algeria, Angola, Gabon, Egypt, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Mozambique, Nigeria, Asia - China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Iran and the Middle East - UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, as well as Serbia and Georgia.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, there is currently access to livestock products in more than 105 countries.
Rosselkhoznadzor is constantly working to harmonize veterinary certificates for the export of animal products with third countries. Thus, in 2024, Rosselkhoznadzor and the competent authorities of foreign countries agreed on 24 certificates with 10 countries.
The main achievement was the certification of three Russian producers for pork supplies to China.
