Livestock production in Russia not only meets the domestic needs of the country but has increasing export potential, said Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrey Razin at the business conference "Meat and feed industry. Development prospects in 2022", held in Moscow.
Poultry and pork represent the main volumes of meat production in Russia, making up 43% and 35% of the share, respectively. The industrial sector has driven growth over the last few years. This year the industry continues to see positive results. From January to April the production of livestock and poultry on farms increased 6.7% compared to the same period last year.
During the business conference, experts discussed measures to stimulate the industry. According to Andrey Razin, farmers today have access to a wide range of state support, including concessional lending and compensation of part of the costs for the construction and modernization of livestock facilities.
