Yuri Kovalev, general director of the National Union of Pork Producers, reported that pork exports began to recover in the second half of the year as logistics problems were resolved and the price situation was normalized.
He noted that this year the structure of Russian exports of pork products has changed significantly. If previously the countries of Southeast Asia accounted for about 50% of total exports, in 2022 their share decreased to 30%. The decrease in exports to Vietnam and Hong Kong was partially compensated by the growth of pork supplies to the Eurasian Economic Union countries, primarily Belarus and Kazakhstan. Exports to Belarus in the first nine months of this year more than doubled, exceeding 55 thousand tons.
