Russian pork production and export on rise

In January-May 2019 the production of pork in agricultural organizations grew 5.9% or 97 thousand tons year-on-year and amounted to 1.73 million tons in live weight.

Bulk increase came on producers of the following regions: Belgorod (+22.3 thousand tons), Pskov (+21.5 thousand tons), Voronezh (+14.8 thousand tons) and Kursk (+9.8 thousand tons) and Krasnodar (+11.3 thousand tons).

Russian pork industry also showed a considerable increase in pork meat export excluding by-products. In January-May it amounted to 14.9 thousand tons (+ 5% y/y).

Russia's livestock and poultry production in H1

In the first half of 2019 butcher stock and poultry live weight production in farms of all categories amounted to 6.8 million tons, which is 1% more compared to the same period in 2018.
