Shaanxi, new province affected by ASF in China

So far, there are 21 provinces affected by this disease.

Shaanxi is the new province with confirmed African swine fever (ASF) cases in China. The number of affected regions is now 21.

Since the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China (MoA) confirmed the first ASF case in the province of Liaoning on August 3rd, 2018, more than 80 outbreaks have been confirmed and more than 570,000 pigs have been culled.

During the last week, new outbreaks have ben detected in Inner Mongolia, Hubei, Tianjin, Jiangji, Shaanxi, Beijing and Heilonjgiang.

We must underline the outbreak in Beijing, on a farm in Tongzhou, with almost 10,000 susceptible animals.
