ICEX Spain Exports and Investments has published a report drafted by the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Milan on the cured hams and sausages market in Italy.

According to this report, in 2015, the production of cured hams and sausages increased by 0.9% in terms of volume (1,176 million tonnes) and by 0.7% in terms of invoicing (€7,875 million). This is mainly due to the exports reaching €1.352 million (+7.1% with respect to 2014) and a volume of 165,250 tonnes (+10.7%). Likewise, the imports also grew by 5.2% in terms of volume (51,410 tonnes), but dropped in terms of value (-3.6%), with €187.1 million.

Cooked ham and cured sausages still are the leading products in this sector, representing, jointly, a quota of 49% in terms of volume and of 52.5% in terms of value.
