The agricultural, fishing, food and forestry exports from January to December 2014 have kept an upward trend and have reached a value of €40,830 million, 3% higher than in 2013. Meanwhile, the value of the imports was €31,087 million, 1% higher than in 2013. So, the year-on-year balance was €9,742 million, with an improvement by 9%.
With these figures, the agrifood and fishing sector (with 17% of the total value) becomes established as the second most important sector of the Spanish foreign trade, after semimanufactures and capital goods, and before the automobile sector and the chemical industry sector.
Within the historical series, during the current term in office, in the 2012-2014 triennium, Spain exports, as an average, €12,428 million more than from 2004 to 2011.
