Spain becomes established as the eighth food and agriculture products (agricultural and fish products) exporting country in the world and the fourth one in the European Union, according to the data published by the World Trade Organization and recorded in the report "Analysis of the Foreign Trade" of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment. During year 2012, Spain exported products with a value of 38,500 million euros.
The rise, in the case of Spain, in the economic value of the exports in this sector has been 9.6%: the highest one among the most exporting EU countries, beating France (2%), Germany (5.3%), The Netherlands (4.5%) or Italy (4.9%).
The groups of products that have had a most important role, in year 2012, towards the increase of the exports have been Fruits (11%), Drinks (15%), Meats (12%) and Vegetables (9%).
