Spain: drop in the slaughterings of pigs

During the first trimester of this year the slaughterings of pigs in Spain have dropped by 2.67%.

During the first trimester of this year the slaughterings of pigs in Spain have fallen by 2.67%, with a total of 10,980,129 animals slaughtered in comparison with the same period in 2012. Only during the month of March the drop has been by 8.79% in comparison with March 2012, with a total of 3,270,882 animals slaughtered.

In relation with meat production, during the first three months of 2013 a total of 931,042 tons have been produced: a drop by 3.73% with respect to January-March 2012.
