During the year 2021 Spain imported a total of 1,552,851 piglets from the Netherlands, according to data from the Dutch statistics service RVO. This represents an increase of 22% over the previous year when 1.27 million Dutch piglets were imported. As seen in the graph below, these imports have undergone a more than significant increase over the last 6 years, from 194,000 head in 2006 to 1.55 million in 2021, an increase of more than 700%.

The year 2021 started with significant increases in the number of imported piglets, which gradually decreased to end with weekly values below those of 2020.
