According to data published by the OEEC, Spanish meat exports reached last year a record 1.89 million tons, worth €4,678 M, an increase of 13% in quantity and 8.5 % in value compared to 2013.
Exports of fresh pork (EU + third countries) were remarkable, reaching 1.34 million tonnes, and raising over €2,800 M €. Shipments to third countries increased by 33%, and to the EU by 3%.
Also noticeable was the growth of exports of cured hams and shoulders (EU + third countries): + 9.3% in volume and + 8% in value.
