Despite all the problems caused by COVID-19, Spanish pig production has continued to increase, with a 12.75% increase in pork production in March compared to March 2019 (430,904 t vs 382,189 t).
The cumulative figures for January-March are also satisfactory, with a total production of 1,329,943 t in this first quarter, an increase of 4.42% compared to the first quarter of 2019.

In terms of the number of head slaughtered, there was a 10.15% increase for the month of March (4,798,994 head vs. 4,356,829) and for the first quarter there was an increase of 2.45% (14,516,255 head vs. 14,169,631 head).
