The latest data published by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture on the number of pigs slaughtered during the past year shows an increase of 2.98% compared to 2010.

The latest data published by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture on the number of pigs slaughtered during the past year shows an increase of 2.98% compared to 2010, with a total of 42,066,155 of pigs slaughtered in 2011 (40,847,017 in 2010).

The weight during the past year totaled 3,479,474 tons, 3.28% more than in 2010 (3,368,921 tonnes).
