In the January-August 2020 period, Spanish exports of pork have grown by 19.0% in volume and 28.6% in value, compared to the same period last year, according to the latest report published by Interporc.
Most of the exports by volume, are pig meat (71.3% of the total), followed by offal (16.4%), pork products (6.7%), bacon (5.2%) and lard and rendered fat (0.5%).
75% of exports by volume are concentrated in 8 markets
Regarding the destination for these exports, during the first 8 months of this year the Chinese market remained the main client of the Spanish white pig sector, absorbing 41.4% of its exports in volume and 35.2% in value. It is followed by France (10.4%), Italy (7.4%), Japan (4.3%), Portugal (3.8%), Poland (3.4%), the Philippines (2.6%) and South Korea (1.8%).
