According to a report written by ICEX Spain Imports and Investments, the evolution of the Singaporean imports of meat products shows a positive trend in the 2011-2015 period, although the cured hams and forelegs consignments have decreased slightly in the last two years.
In the last fiscal years, the Singaporean imports of cured hams and forelegs has shown a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) by 3.6% in terms of tonnes, in spite of the moderation in the last two years, during which the market share has remained relatively stable. In 2015, Spain was the second cured hams and forelegs exporter to Singapore, after China, with more than 5 tonnes of bone-in cured hams and forelegs exported with a value of SDG254,000, that entails almost 15% of the import quota. Its CAGR in 2015 is negative in terms of value (-2.9%) but positive in terms of tonnes (8.6%). On the ther hand, the Singaporean imports of meat products have grown during the last 5 years, until exceeding 2,000 tonnes with a value of SDG18.4 million in 2015.
