During the first six months of this year the EU has exported a total of 2,936,271 tonnes of pork, 10.8% more compared to the same period in 2019 and 21.4% more than in 2018.
Exports to China have increased by 75% compared to the first half of 2019, reaching 1,600,202 t, meaning that more than half of the total European pork exports are destined for China. This is followed by the United Kingdom as the second largest destination with 13.5% of the total, Japan (8.1%), and South Korea (3.7%).
