The sales of feed in The Netherlands in 2017 grew by 2.1%, reaching almost 12.6 million tonnes, according to the data provided by Nevedi, the Dutch Feed Industry Association.

Although a drop was expected in the cattle sector, there was an upward trend in the sales for dairy cattle. The pig sector had an exceptionally good year in 2017 that was also obvious in the sales of feed for swine.

When establishing the annual sales, Nevedi uses data from its approximately 95 members, that represent some 95% of the total feed sales in The Netherlands.
