This action has been agreed within the “Action Plan to Revitalise the Pig Production Sector”, that was sent to the House of Representatives last September 4th.

As of next autumn, a compulsory assessment of the risks for all the pig producers will be carried out.

According to the Minister, pig producers must start gaining experience in keeping the pigs’ tails intact, so the number of intact pigs should grow gradually.

The program also considers the reduction of PRRS, Salmonella and in the use of antibiotics, and the increase in the vitality of the piglets.
