The Polish pig census decreases

The total pig census as of June 2015 has dropped by 0.7% with respect to the same period in 2014.

According to the data of the Central Statistical Office of Poland, as of June 2015, the total pig census added up 11,639,800 heads: a decrease by 0.7% when compared with the same period in 2014, but a rise by 1.1% in comparison with March 2015. Regarding March 2015, the increase has affected the fattening pigs (+3%).

With respect to the sows, the census as of June 2015 has dropped with respect to March by 15,000 heads (-1,6%), whilst when compared to June 2014 the decrease is by 6.1%.
