UK July pig production reaches 20-year high

Clean pig slaughterings in the United Kingdom reached 964,000 head in July 2020.

UK clean pig slaughterings for July set a 20-year record for the month and were 6.3% higher year-on-year at 964,000 head. Sow and boar slaughterings were up 21% year-on-year with 23,000 head. Pigmeat production was 86,000 tonnes, 9.2% higher than in July 2019.
