After confirmation of the presence of African swine fever in Ukraine in late July last year, the following measures were applied to prevent the spread of the disease:
- ban on the export of susceptible livestock, raw materials and products of animal origin from the outbreak and within the 10 km zone;
- control commission on roads from the outbreak by quarantine police;
- elimination of susceptible livestock in the outbreak;
- industrial processing of all susceptible livestock within the 10 km zone;
- prohibition of movement and trade of susceptible animals and products of animal origin within the 150 km radius surveillance zone;
- cleaning;
- disinfection;
- monitoring of domestic and wild animals.
This event is now considered as ended. The quarantine has been lifted.
