One of the issues to be discussed during the next Council of Ministers of the European Union is the import of cereals from Ukraine.

Uncertainty in the agricultural markets remains high, waiting for an agreement to be reached on the renewal of the Black Sea Initiative, an issue that is essential to guarantee food security and contain the volatility of raw material prices.

The current agreement to export grain and fertilizers from Ukrainian ports was extended for four months but expires on March 17. Representatives of the UN and the Russian government are holding discussions in Geneva for its renewal.
