With the signing of a renewed Memorandum of Understanding on grain cooperation, the current and future cooperation in technological innovation, training, exchanges, etc. will be strengthened and promoted.
This visit is the kick-off for the first meeting of the Joint Grain Cooperation Committee (established within the framework of the MOU) to be held within the framework of the official mission that Minister Mattos and a delegation of public and private actors will carry out in May in the People's Republic of China.
Areas of cooperation may include research on legislative and regulatory proposals on grains, research on marketing policies, handling and stockpiling of grains and their processed products, policy and technological research for the reduction of post-harvest losses, research on quality and safety, management, and standards and technology of grains and their processed products.
Both parties will promote the foreseen cooperation through the exchange of related technical and statistical information, information on related legal and regulatory frameworks, joint research projects, experts and support for training, and study visits of professionals and technicians.
