Vietnam: Animal feed exports down 15% in the first eight months of 2024

According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, in the first eight months of 2024, exports of animal feed and raw materials reached over 672.84 million USD, down 15.1% compared to the first eight months of 2023.

In August 2024 alone, exports reached over 87.95 million USD, down 3% compared to July 2024 and down 37% compared to August 2023.

China is Vietnam's largest export market for animal feed and raw materials, accounting for 40.2% of the country's total export turnover of animal feed and raw materials. In the first eight months of 2024, animal feed and raw material exports to this market reached over 270.66 million USD, down 30.6% compared to the first eight months of 2023.

The U.S. market follows, reaching over 88.88 million USD, up 67%, accounting for 13.2%; Cambodia reached 79.86 million USD, down 31.8%, accounting for 11.9%; Malaysia reached 67.42 million USD, down 9.9%, accounting for 10%.

Export of animal feed and raw materials to the Southeast Asian market reached over 205.9 million USD, down 18% compared to the first eight months of 2023, accounting for 30.6% of the total export turnover of animal feed and raw materials.
