The volume of pork, beef and poultry imported by the Asian country has surged to 6,000 tonnes from the 800 recorded in 2012, according to the Union of Producers and Employers of Meat Industry.
The English edition of the newspaper 'Saigon Giai Phong' reports that the professional association UPEMI sees the transparency as regards the meat source and the good quality and hygiene conditions in which European meat is produced as the main factors behind this increase.
According to the organization, more than 100 European companies have been licensed to export meat products to Vietnam, 40 of them Polish.
According to data from the Tax Agency, Spain exported in 2014 meat products to the Vietnamese market worth €4.67 M, 542.97% more than the previous year.
