Vietnamese officials have seized 2.5 million tonnes of illegal agents used for stimulating growth and lean meat production in pigs and cattle in a series of raids in Dong Nai province.
This is the largest seizure to be impounded in Vietnam since the government launched a campaign to ban its use in animal production a few years ago. Concerns over safety of meat have prompted the government of Vietnam to be vigilant on additives that could negatively impact the health of consumers.
