On August 25, the Department of Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) sent a document to 31 Vietnamese provinces (major pig producers) requiring to stop the vaccination with African swine fever (ASF) vaccine in the provinces where pigs have apparently died after being inoculated with the ASF vaccine.

According to local authorities, pig herds in differents provinces were injected with the ASF vaccine without instructions and guidance of the Department of Animal Health. The Ministry has established a working group to examine and clarify the cause.
