According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, in August 2024, Vietnam imported 269,712 tons of wheat, equivalent to 73.25 million USD.
In the first eight months of 2024, wheat imports from the main market, Brazil, reached over 1.17 million tons, equivalent to 293.15 million USD, accounting for 31.7% of the total volume and 28.5% of the total wheat import turnover of the country. In August 2024, Vietnam did not import wheat from this market.
Coming in second is the Australian market, with wheat imports reaching 782,572 tons, equivalent to over 241.69 million USD, accounting for 21.1% of the total volume and 23.5% of the total turnover.
Next is the Ukrainian market with 736,590 tons, equivalent to 190.65 million USD, accounting for 19.9% of the total volume and 18.6% of the total wheat import turnover of the country,
Wheat imports from the U.S. market reached 258,738 tons, equivalent to 84.68 million USD.
