This image corresponds of a litter 3 days old piglets which are dehydrated with profuse yellow scour staining their bodies.
It is a case of neonatal colibacillosis in which E. coli F4 (K88) was detected.
Treatment with antibiotics and electrolytes helped to recover this litter.
Prevention was achieved by vaccinating the breeding herd pre-farrowing against this bacterial infection.
