This is inflammation of the endocardium of the atrioventricular valve with fibrin deposition. This lesion has a bacterial etiology and is usually related with septicemia. This case corresponded with Trueperella (Arcanobacterium) pyogenes infection, but other bacteria can be involved: E. rhusiopathiae, Streptococcus, etc.
