When the meninges are inflamed a severe congestion is observed. Sometimes, fibrin exudation can be also observed multifocally in the sulci, as in this case. The etiology of meningitis are bacterial infections such as: Streptococcus suis, Haemophilus parasuis, Mycoplasma hyorhinis and Escherichia coli, among others.
