Pleuroneumonia - Atlas of swine pathology

Finishing animal that dies suddenly at the same time that clinical signs of a respiratory problem are detected in the barn. This is a pleuropneumonia produced by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, characterized by the presence of areas of necrosis and hemorrhage distributed throughout the lung, but more noticeable in the diaphragmatic lobe, along with fibrin in the pleura. Similar lesions can be produced by some strains of Pasteurella multocida and Actinobacillus suis.
