Multifocal whitish nodules in the splenic surface and affecting the adjacent lymph node are suggestive of lymphocyte neoplasia (lymphoma). Leukemia usually produces a diffuse enlargement of the spleen (splenomegaly) while melanoma is associated with multifocal black nodules.
