Calory
It is a measure of the heat (it is equivalent to the amount of heat necessary to increase 1ºC the temperature of 1 kg of water). It is used in nutrology in order to determine the amount of energy of the food, although in this case, the unit normally used is the kilocalory (Kcal), that equals 1,000 calories. A food with many calories has a higher ability to fatten the animal (or person) that eats it. They are normally foods with a high amount of fats or carbohydrates.
