Cannibalism
It is an abnormal behaviour or a vice in which the sows bite and kill their newborn piglets. It is normally shown by nervous sows and first parturition sows, because they have not had the experience of farrowing before and they relate the pain of the farowing with the presence of the newborn piglets. Cannibalism is also a problem that affects other kind of pigs that, as a consequience of a vice, start to bite themselves and end up eating parts of the body of other mates (the tail, the ears, the flanks,...).
