Chromosome
The chromosomes are packaged and organized structures in the nucleus of cells containing most of the DNA of a living organism. Each chromosome contains thousands of genes. Every cell in the body contains these chromosomes, and each parent transfers half of its chromosomes to its offspring (the offspring is the result of mixing half of the genetic material from the sire and half from the dam). Pigs have 38 chromosomes, whilst wild boars have 2 chromosomes less (36).
