Dehesa
It is the kind of agricultural landscape that is located specifically in the south-west of the Iberian peninsula: Extremadura and other nearby regions (Andalusia, Castille and a small area of Portugal). In the dehesa there is normally a combination of agricultural and livestock production, so it is frequent to find pastures, evergreen oaks and cork oaks (acorn-producing trees), and livestock (pigs, cows, horses, ...) in a free-grazing system. The traditional Iberian pig production system is based on the exploitation of the natural resources of the dehesa.
