Fertility
Fertility makes reference to the ability of a female to become pregnant. Sometimes this word is also used to define the ability of the male to impregnate the sows. For example, a sow with a good fertility normally becomes pregnant after its mating. This term is also used as a breeding parameter. So, the fertility in a farm is the percentage of sows that become pregnant after having been mated. If, for instance, we have a fertility of a 90%, this means that 9 out of 10 sows become pregnant after having been mated.
