Heritability
Heritability is the proportion of the phenotypic variability due to the total genetic variation. Its value ranges between zero and one. It gives an idea of the degree in which a phenotypic trait is determined genetically. It is a measure of the degree in which the offspring resemble their parents in terms of a certain trait.
The heritability analysis estimates the relative contributions of the differences in terms of genetic and non-genetic factors with respect to the total phenotypic variance in a population.
