USA: August pork, beef exports soar to new heights

August was another outstanding month for U.S. pork and beef exports, according to statistics released by USDA and compiled by the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF). Pork exports reached their highest monthly volume of the year at 186,068 metric tons, and the second-highest value total of all time at $531.2 million.

USA: Legislation to reform renewable fuel standard introduced

Strong demand in north east Asia has delivered a surge in Irish pork exports to the core markets of China, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea to date in 2011. For the first five months of the year, exports in value and volume terms to these four markets almost trebled to €16.9m or 10,700 tonnes.
